Welcome!

The countdown is on!

E=mc2 is an original Australian school musical with the goal to promote Science and Mathematics through Music, drama, Visual & Media Arts.  The musical’s narrative focuses on the important contribution to Albert Einstein’s famous formula by women scientists of the time. For more info on how this musical came to be, read here.

The spirit of resilience is strong among HPS students

HPS had plans to launch the first performance back in October 2021 but COVID-19 impacted every aspect of the production. Nevertheless, we have persevered with agility and the resilience of our young cast members who remain as committed and as excited about the performances – even when we couldn’t lock in a performance date! Please click here to see the full cast.

However, we now have much to celebrate!

The production team, led by David Collins-White, is pleased to announce the following performance dates:

School performances May 26

Public performances May 27 & 28

We will keep you updated on tickets, giveaways and special treats as the event nears.

Successful Grant Application

HPS is also celebrating the successful application for the Minister’s Arts Recovery Grant (MARG).  The grant will go towards the production of the musical which is already in full rehearsals. We have some amazing creative designs we will bring to life, with lighting and set pieces that this funding will help ensure this event is one that will be talked about for years to come!

Student Mentorship Program

The musical is as much an opportunity for talented singers and actors to showcase their skills as it is for the whole student community to take part in this production. David Collins-White and HPS teachers involved with the production have established various student mentorship programs that allows for all students to be involved in this exciting musical event and get exposure to musical production.

Some of the areas of mentorship are:

  • Journalism
  • Marketing & PR
  • Event Production
  • Set Design

We are delighted to present this first contribution which is a behind the scenes report by Abigail Daly from 6R.

Call out to Volunteers

With the change of date from 2021 to 2022, many of our parent volunteers now have moved on as their children have started high school this year. We are therefore calling for Parent or Haberfield Community helpers who can volunteer in any aspect of the production including:

  • Set building
  • Prop sourcing
  • Costume
  • Hair and make up
  • Back stage

If you are interested in being part of the production, please email Trish Butera at pbutera@60zone.com

Thanks for joining our journey to the HPS e=mc2 musical performances.  The countdown is definitely on!

Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks!
